Decorations!

Martha Stewart ghosts!

Alex and I decided while looking through Martha's catalog that we would make these ghosts!
We were thinking of hardware stores nearby and I remembered that there was an Anawalt pretty close... An Anawalt on Pico & Sepulveda... We simultaniously said, "Pico and Sepulveda?!?!"
"Pico and Sepulveda! Pico and Sepulveda! Pico and Sepulveda!" If any of you have seen The Forbidden Zone or know who Lee Press-on and the Nails are, you'll understand our enthusiasm for "Pico & Sepulveda!"

Take the two sticks of wood and put them together leaving only a little room at the top. Use zip-ties diagonally each way to secure them together.
Wrap led lights all around the sticks and cover them with cheesecloth.
Stick the carved pumpkins(I used funkins so they would last) on top, put the lights inside...
 ...and you're done!
Lucy chillin in front of my Martha Stewart ghost :)

Lights!

Love these guys...

This is my Halloween bunny... I've had it since I can remember. <3

It's beginning to look a lot like Halloween...!

6 Days left!

A day of Pools and Piranhas!

Today there was a lot of swimming in a pool and swimming in a pool of blood!

I hadn't worked with Gary in a while, it was about time I was "Blood Girl" again...

By the end of the day it was freezing and exhausting, but all in all it was good fun : )

My Little Pumpkins!

My Little Pumpkin <3

Pumpkin Pie :)

My First Pumpkin!

Don't... Fall... Asleep...

Tonight I went to the New Bev with my f.b. "b.f." Samy to see...

A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET

I had never seen it in a theater before and I have to say it was amazing on the big screen!
Being there when it came out  for the first time in 1984 would have been so cool to see. But this was pretty cool too : )

Emma's "Monster Mash-Potatoes"

In the spirit of Halloween, I decided to make my Monster Mash-Potatoes!

Ingredients:

~Potatoes (About 8 should be good)
~Butter
~Milk
~Salt
~Green food color
~Broccoli
~Carrots
~Hard boiled egg

Step 1:
Put on your favorite movie (if you have a t.v./computer near by)
In my case, Beetlejuice was on! Lucky me :D

Step 2:
Wash your potatoes and peel them nice and good.

Step 3:
Cut your 'taters into 8 pieces and toss them into a pot of water.
Put that pot on the boil and sit tight :)

Step 4:
Once that pot is nice and bubbly, stick a fork in them to see if they're soft and ready...
Ready? Good. Now put those hot 'taters into a dish and start mashing! (I like to mash a little myself before dumping them into a mixer.)

Step 5:
a.When you've finished taking all your anger out on those poor... poor... potatoes, then scoop up your hott mess and dump them into the mixing bowl add some salt and... Mix! (On low or else you'll be wearing your dinner.)

b.Take a stick of butter and two cups of milk and stir them gently together in a little pot on the stove.
Now for some fun... Get out your sexy green food coloring and squeeze as many drops as you'd like into the butter/milk mix. Once it's as green as a witches bottom, pour half of the sexy green sauce into the mixing bowl of 'taters!

Step 6:
Once your 'taters are as soft and green and sexy as you want, then slide those babies into a rectangular serving dish. Use small pieces of broccoli to decorate at the top of the pan for Frankie's hair and two pieces at the bottom for his neck bolts. Now take 'itty baby carrots and use them for the staples, nose and mouth....Last but not least.... Take a hard boiled egg, slice it in half (vertical or horizontal depending on where the yolk hardened) and place them for his eyes!

There! Sexy green Monster Mash-Potatoes!

Enjoy <3
